The Team: 

Upstart’s Investor Services team is responsible for managing relationships with institutional capital investors, ensuring they have the necessary support, data, and insights to confidently invest in Upstart’s loan products. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless connection between Upstart’s borrower marketplace and the investors who provide the capital that fuels lending.

As the Investor Services Associate at Upstart, you will play a key role in supporting investor relations, reporting, and reconciliations. This role is designed for someone with a strong analytical mindset who can leverage data to improve investor insights and work cross-functionally to solve complex problems.

 

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on West Coast time zones. 

Travel Requirements -  As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.

 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Support investor operations, including onboarding, reporting, account reconciliations, and addressing investor inquiries.
  • Work cross-functionally with Treasury, Accounting, and Capital Market  teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities by analyzing investor data, identifying trends, and improving the accuracy and efficiency of investor reports.
  • Monitor investor transactions and accounts, ensuring alignment with funding agreements and operational processes.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in investor processes, suggest automation opportunities, and drive efficiency initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with investors, responding to inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Engineering and Product teams, to optimize investor reporting tools and data accessibility.

 

What we’re looking for: 

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
    • 1+ years of experience in financial services, investor relations, accounting, treasury operations, or reporting.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with external investors and internal teams.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience with account reconciliations and working with large datasets in reporting 
    • Experience in investor services, asset management, financial operations, or a similar field.
    • Proficiency in Excel  or other data analysis tools.
    • Knowledge of financial reconciliation processes, treasury operations, or investment reporting.
    • Familiarity with loan servicing, fintech, or capital markets operations.
    • Strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.  The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k).

United States | Remote - Anticipated Base Salary Range
$101,500—$140,330 USD
